Nationally, Fairtrade continues to go from strength to strength with sales topping £1.78 billion in the UK, and more than £23 million being paid in community premium. We lead the world! In buying Fairtrade you are demonstrating a different set of values and showing you care enough to read the label – look for the logo – and pay a bit extra if necessary. Little by little we are changing the world trade system to one that respects the producers’ right to a reasonable standard of living and does not exploit either people or the environment.
